How long does a pile driving construction project take?
I just moved to a new city, and right after moving, a construction project started right next to my apartment. It’s so loud! Right now, they are in the pile driving process. When can I expect the pile driving to be done?

We recommend simply locating a construction crew member and asking them for an estimated timeline. Crew members will have a better sense of the specifics of the project right by your apartment.
Pile driving is an important part of the construction process for building a new structure. It involves digging large structures made of various materials (like concrete or metal) into soft dirt to strengthen a structure. Pile driving is most often used for bridges.
Usually, pile driving takes at least a couple of weeks. It’s an involved process, and if the construction crew is working a typical eight to ten-hour day, two weeks is a pretty prompt timeline.
But, some pile driving projects can take longer—sometimes up to a few months. If the crew encounters problematic conditions—like piles that won’t hit bedrock—the project can take longer than expected. Projects will also take longer for larger structures.
