How far can a Kia Soul go on empty?

The gas light on my Kia Soul has clicked on a few times while driving, and I hate letting it get to empty. If I can’t get to a gas station immediately, how far can I go before I run out of gas?

There’s no concrete distance a Kia Soul can drive on empty, but generally speaking, the gas light will illuminate when there is 10-15% capacity in the rank. With the 14.3-gallon gas tank, a Kia Soul could go 50-75 miles on empty. That’s assuming around 500 miles per tank of highway driving based on an EPA-estimated 35 mpg.
Be mindful that your driving habits primarily dictate how far your Kia can drive on empty. If you’re in slow-moving traffic, the 50-75 miles could quickly drop. Or, if you’re a heavy accelerator, you’ll burn through gas faster, reducing the mileage.
In any situation, driving with an empty tank is never recommended, but when you don’t have another option, it helps to have a backup plan. What might that be? We call it
