Here’s how you can put your Ram 1500 into neutral without starting:
Locate and carefully open the panel on the left side of the steering wheel.
Look for a release lever with a red strap.
Pull the lever out until you hear a click—this will put your truck into neutral.
Some levers may have a safety switch in the front, so you will need to push it to the right and pull the strap at the same time. To put the truck back into park, pull the tab towards you and move the safety switch at the same time.
