How do you open the gas tank on a 2022 Ford Escape?
I bought a 2022 Ford Escape the other day and am having trouble trying to open the fuel fill door—how do you open the gas tank on a 2022 Ford Escape?

There are three ways to open the gas tank on a 2022 Ford Escape—the specific one you’ll use depends on the design of your fuel door and whether you have the plug-in hybrid model.
If you have the all-gas model, you’ll need to take a look at the fuel fill door and check whether it has a small upraised tab. If it does, you can open it by putting two fingers underneath the tab and manually pulling it open.
If your all-gas 2022 Ford Escape’s fuel door does not have a small upraised tab, you can open it by pressing in on the door’s rear center edge—this will cause the door to automatically pop open.
To open the gas tank on the plug-in hybrid version of the 2022 Ford Escape, find the button marked with a gas pump on the left side of your instrument panel and press it. This will automatically open the fuel fill door.
Once you’ve got the fuel fill door open (regardless of design or hybrid status), you’re ready to refuel. The 2022 Ford Escape uses a capless refueling system.
