How do you open the gas tank on a 2017 Ford Edge?
I’m currently renting a 2017 Ford Edge while my car is in the shop getting repairs done, but I can’t figure out how to open the gas tank, and I need to fill up soon. Do you know how to open the gas tank on a 2017 Ford Edge?

We totally understand—new cars can take some getting used to! Luckily, the gas tank on a 2017 Ford Edge is pretty easy to open once you know how to do it. Here’s how:
- Step one: Find the fuel door on the rear driver’s side of the vehicle. It will look like a rectangular cutout on the body of the Edge.
- Step two: Press the fuel door as if it were a button. This will trigger the fuel door to open.
- Step three: Unscrew the fuel cap underneath the fuel door to access the gas tank.
- Step four: Use the gas pump nozzle to fill the gas tank. When the tank is full, replace the gas cap cover by pressing it back into place after screwing the gas cap back on.
The 2017 Ford Edge can usually travel more than 420 miles depending on the trim level you’re driving, but it’s important to fuel up well before your gauge hits “E.” Avoid over-fueling at the pump, too, as this makes a mess for the next driver and can be dangerous for your vehicle.
