How do you lower a BMW X5?

Is there a way for me to lower my BMW X5 myself? I don’t have a lot of experience working on cars, but I would love to save myself some money by doing it at home.

Answer
Lowering a BMW X5 is as easy as a touch of a button if you have air suspension in your BMW X5. To lower your BMW X5, use one of these three methods:
  • Use the center console toggle: Some BMW X5 models will have a toggle on the enter console that you can use to lower your car. If you have trouble locating the controls, check your owner’s manual.
  • Select Sport Mode: Use the Sport button on your dashboard to select Sport Mode. This will lower your car by one level.
  • Use the trunk button: In your BMW’s trunk, you should see a small button on the lower side of the door. Pressing this button will lower your car to the lowest setting.
However, if you don’t have air suspension, you’ll need to visit a shop to have it lowered or purchase a lowering kit. Since you don’t have much experience working on cars, it’ll likely be less stressful to have a professional do it, as lowering a car is an intensive process.
