Having a fully functioning car charger is essential for daily life. If your car charger adapter has stopped working, you might be able to fix it by opening it up, doing some light cleaning, and repairing the necessary inner components, like reattaching a loose wire or fixing some corrosion.
It depends on how the one you’re using is made, but you can usually do this with the help of a screwdriver and a set of needle-nose pliers. Car charger adapters are relatively inexpensive, so you could also replace it.
If the problem is with the cigarette lighter, a common reason they can stop working is a short circuit. If this is the case, you may need to replace one or more fuses from your car’s fuse box. Your car’s manual will typically show you where the fuse box is and which one is connected to your car’s charger or cigarette lighter. A mechanic can take care of this for you.
