How do you change the color of your car emblem?
What’s the best way to change the color of your car emblem? I have a black Mercedes. I think the hood ornament would look awesome if it was red.

Car emblems are usually bright silver or unpainted chrome, so painting them is a quick, easy way to personalize your ride! Follow these steps to change your car emblem’s color:
- Step 1: Remove the ornament by either unscrewing it, softening the glue with a hairdryer, or taking off the fasteners.
- Step 2: Sand it with a high grit sandpaper—220 grit will work well.
- Step 3: Clean it with either mineral spirits or alcohol.
- Step 4: Spray at least three coats of primer, leaving a minute for drying before applying each new layer.
- Step 5: Apply your paint in light coats. Spray one at a time and let it dry for a minute or two before applying a new layer.
- Step 6: Let it dry overnight.
- Step 7: Reattach the ornament by either applying glue to the bottom, screwing it back in, or refastening it.
