How do I remove scratches from my black car’s bumper?

How do I remove scratches from a black bumper? My son is trying to get his driver’s license and is practicing with my car. When he was pulling out of the garage, he scratched the bumper of my black car.

Accidents happen, especially when you’re learning to drive! Getting a car bumper fixed in a
body shop
can be expensive, but you may be able to repair this yourself. To remove the fine scratches from your black car’s bumper, you will need the following:
  • Polishing compound
  • Rubbing compound
  • Clean microfiber cloth
Once you have your supplies:
  • Start by using the rubbing compound to buff out the scratch. Apply the rubbing compound in small amounts, allowing it to dry quickly.
  • Take the microfiber cloth and wipe the surface of the bumper. Start with a clean surface before you proceed.
  • Repeat two or three more times until the scratch is gone.
  • When you are satisfied with the finish, apply the polishing compound. Buff the surface for a glimmering finish.
Now, your bumper should look brand new!
Since your son is learning to drive, you’ll want to add him to your
