Many new owners of the GMC Acadia don’t know how to open the gas tank, so don’t feel embarrassed! To open the gas tank on a GMC Acadia, make sure the car is off, go around to the gas tank, and firmly press on the right-hand side of the filler door.
The gas filler door on a GMC Acadia has a spring-loaded feature that will spring open the door with just a touch. Once you’re done refueling, push the door closed in the same fashion to lock it in place.
