How do I open the gas tank on a 2017 Subaru Legacy?

My wife is out of town, so I’m driving her 2017 Subaru Legacy in the meantime. She’s due home tomorrow, so I want to fill the tank before she gets back. I just have no idea how to open the tank—what am I doing wrong?

You’re going to earn some brownie points by filling the car before your wife gets home! Fortunately, it’s easier than you think—to open the gas tank on a 2017 Subaru Legacy, look for a small lever on the driver’s side floorboard denoted by a gas pump icon. All you have to do is pull up on the lever and it should pop open the gas tank!
