How do I change a Honda Odyssey headlight?

I need to replace a headlight on my 2007 Odyssey. Typically, I would ask my brother to help me do this, but he’s on vacation. What’s the easiest way to change a headlight on a Honda Odyssey?

It’s great your brother helps, but this is the perfect opportunity to learn how to do it yourself! To change the headlight on a
Honda Odyssey
, follow these instructions:
  1. Park your car on an even surface and turn your headlights on.
  2. Open your hood
. Locate the faulty bulb and determine if it is in the high beam or low beam unit. The high beam bulbs are near the grill, whereas the low beam bulbs are outside the fenders.
  3. Turn off the headlights once you’ve determined which bulb you need to replace.
  4. Remove the air intake duct for more space to access the headlight bulbs. To remove the air intake duct, use pliers to remove two upper retaining pins, then pull the air duct upward to release the bottom retaining pins.
  5. Remove the remaining air duct. Twist it off the airbox housing.
  6. Unfasten the wire plugs from the socket of the composite headlight.
  7. Turn the retaining ring collar 1/3 counterclockwise to remove the headlight from the headlight assembly.
  8. Put on vinyl or latex gloves and attach the new replacement headlight bulb.
  9. Do everything in reverse order to put the headlight back together.
  10. Test your work.
If you can’t get your headlight to work or the steps seem overwhelming, don’t be afraid to take your car to a professional! They typically have the bulbs on hand and can easily replace the headlight for you.
