Although you technically don’t need to know driving for go-karting, it may help you immensely. The basics of cars and go-karts are similar, but you still have to get acclimated.
Here’s what you need to know to drive a go-kart:
You should be able to reach the pedals with your knees slightly bent.
Note that, unlike an automatic-transmission car, each foot can have a different function when go-karting. You can use your right foot for the gas and your left foot for the brake. This takes a little practice, but it isn’t too hard to master.
Don’t try to drift around turns. Go-karts aren’t made for this, so you need to brake beforehand.
Always look ahead, just like you would if you were driving a car.
Don’t purposely try to hit other drivers. Go-karts aren’t bumper cars.
