Can you wear slippers while driving?

Will I get into trouble for wearing slippers while I’m driving? Sometimes I have to drive my kids to school really early in the morning, and driving in my slippers would be so much more comfortable.

We understand wanting to be comfortable, especially when you’re driving with your kids early in the morning. Luckily, you can wear your slippers while you’re driving! However, we recommend sticking to slippers with a stiff sole to make it a little easier to operate the pedals.
Contrary to common belief, there are actually no laws in place about specific footwear for driving in the U.S. You can drive in slippers, flip-flops, or even barefoot if you want to! However, it is recommended that your shoes have backs so that they don’t get caught or slip off of the pedals unexpectedly.
