Can you sleep in a motorhome while driving?

I’m taking some friends on a tour of national parks in my motorhome this summer. I want to make sure that everyone’s comfortable, so I want to see if napping is allowed. Can you legally sleep in a motorhome while it’s in motion?

That sounds like an epic road trip! If you want everyone to be comfortable, a motorhome is a great way to go.
However, you can only sleep in a motorhome while driving if you’re wearing a seat belt. In addition, some states mandate that the sleeping person remains upright during the ride.
That might seem like a downer for the fatigued camper, but it sure beats a ticket or fine. As an alternative, just bring a few pillows so people can prop their heads up and some blankets so everyone’s cozy. This should provide a decent sleeping arrangement until you reach your destination.
For peace of mind on your trip, you may want to consider adding roadside assistance or
towing and labor coverage
to your car insurance policy. If your current car insurance company doesn’t offer these benefits,
