Can you flat tow a Toyota FJ Cruiser?

After a long search, I finally purchased my dream car: a Toyota FJ Cruiser. However, I was so excited about it, that I was a bit short-sighted. I always like to tow my car behind my RV when I’m on vacation. Is it possible to flat tow a Toyota FJ Cruiser behind an RV?

No—you should never flat tow a Toyota FJ Cruiser. Doing so can significantly damage the internal components of the vehicle, including the transmission and drivetrain. However, you have two other options to tow the FJ Cruiser.
If you have the four-wheel drive version, you can only use a flatbed trailer to tow the FJ Cruiser. However, the
rear-wheel drive
version is more versatile. You can use either a flatbed trailer or a two-wheel dolly to tow it. Just make sure that you lift the rear wheels off the ground if you decide to use a two-wheel dolly.
