I finally got a motorhome for my family’s summer getaways, and I can’t wait to use it this weekend! I still want to bring my car, but I don’t want to drive it all the way to the campsite. Can I flat tow my Ford Focus?

We love a good summer getaway! Whether or not you can flat tow a Ford Focus depends on its model year, transmission, and trim level. Here are the things you need to look out for.
You can flat tow the following types of Ford Focus:
  • A Ford Focus from the 2011 model year or earlier with a manual transmission
  • All Ford Focuses from the 2012 model year or later except for the ST Trim
If you have a 2011 or earlier Ford Focus with an automatic transmission or a 2012 or later Ford Focus ST, you’ll have to invest in some towing equipment. Check your owner’s manual to make sure you follow all proper Ford Focus towing instructions.
