Can you ceramic coat polished aluminum wheels?

I just put custom wheels on my Escalade, and I want to keep them looking new. I’ve used ceramic coating for my paint job, and it worked great. Can I ceramic coat my polished aluminum wheels?

New wheels make a huge difference in the appearance of your car. And of course, you will want to keep them looking amazing! Thankfully, a ceramic coat can be used on polished aluminum wheels and other components of your car.
Dust, dirt, rocks, and road debris get kicked up onto your wheels while you drive—but nothing makes your wheels look worse than the brake dust created every time you stop your car.
A ceramic coating does a great job of protecting your wheels by keeping them shiny, making them easier to clean, and helping repel some of the grime. Here is what you need to do to apply it:
  • Prep your wheels by removing them from your car and doing a deep clean and decontamination.
  • Polish the wheel
    using a micro-polisher.
  • Apply the ceramic coat in sections. Do not spray the entire wheel at one time. Start with the barrel, coat the backside of the hub and spokes, then do the outer face.
  • Follow the directions regarding flashing times and properly wipe each section to even out the coating.
  • Lastly, cure the ceramic coating as directed on the product. Liquid ceramic coatings need four to five days to set completely, and spray coatings take 24 hours.
