Can I sell a car with a lien release letter?

I’m about to move out of state for work and need to sell my car before I go. I'm worried since I’m still paying off the loan on it. Can I sell a car with a lien release letter?

Congrats on the new job! Yes, you can sell a car with a lien release letter. And if you’re planning on selling your vehicle privately, this is the usual route to go about it if you have a
lien on your car
.
A car lien gives the lienholder (or the car loan lender) legal protection over your vehicle until you pay it off completely. But since you already have a lien release letter, you have proof that your vehicle has been released from the lien.
Therefore, your loan has been fully paid or waived by the lienholder—so you shouldn’t have any issue selling your car! The lienholder should have sent you your title by now, so just make sure you
transfer the title
to the new owner.
