Are tires covered under the Ford warranty?

I was driving the other day when I noticed the car start to pull to the right. I pulled over and noticed a screw was in one of the tires. Unfortunately, I don’t have a ton of disposable income. Will the Ford warranty cover tire damage?

Sadly, the 3-year, 36,000-mile basic Ford warranty does not cover tires, as this type of damage is due to wear and tear and isn’t a manufacturer defect. However, you can always add additional coverage to your warranty in the future.
Ford TireCARE is a type of extended warranty from Ford that covers all types of tire damage from:
  • Nails and screws
  • Potholes
  • Pavement damage
  • Glass, metal, and other debris
Prices vary by model and model year, so call your local dealership to find out more.
Tires cost an average of about $200 a piece including installation, so if you need to save up money to replace a single tire or an entire set, reducing your
