I was wondering if you could help me with some basic info on my 2014 Ford Explorer’s oil capacity and what type of oil I should use in it?

So let’s take a look at some quick facts about the 2014 Ford Explorer’s oil capacity and oil type.
The 2014 Ford Explorer has three types of engines. Make sure you know specifically which type of engine your Ford Explorer has before you settle on the type of oil you need, and note the difference between the two EcoBoost engines and the one V6 engine.
- The 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine takes 5.7 quarts (5.4 liters) of SAE 5W-30 synthetic blend or full synthetic motor oil
- The 3.5-Liter Ecoboost engine takes 6 quarts (5.7 liters) of SAE 5W-30 synthetic blend or full synthetic motor oil
- The 3.5-liter V6 engine takes 6 quarts (5.7 liters) of SAE 5W-20 synthetic blend of full synthetic motor oil
The 2014 Ford Explorer has Ford’s Intelligent Oil-Life Monitor (IOLM), which tells you when your car needs an oil change. But regardless of what the car tells you, make sure you get an oil change every 5,000 miles, and never go further than 10,000 miles without getting one. You’ll do a lot of damage to your 2014 Ford Explorer if you don’t get regular oil changes.
