How to replace a lost driver’s license in Texas

Replacing a lost Texas license online

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), you can use the
Online Card Replacement
feature to get a replacement driver’s license. 
You’ll need to provide:
  • Your driver’s license or ID card number
  • Your date of birth
  • The last four digits of your Social Security number (SSN)
  • The audit number from your most recently issued card
  • A copy of your police report
If you don’t have the audit number, don’t sweat it! You can still replace your card online, as long can provide additional verification information:
  • Your first and last name (as they appear on your most recent license or ID)
  • Your address (as it appears on your most recent license or ID)
  • The answers to four security questions
Once you’ve completed this process and paid the $11 replacement fee, you should receive your new license with a new ID number within 45 days. In the meantime, you can print your temporary driving license, which is good for 60 days.
