2022 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT Coupe

Working out of an old mill in 1967, a couple of engineers with a passion for motorsports came together to transform Mercedes-Benz sedans into winning race cars. Today, AMG continues to achieve victory on the track and turn heads on the road.
The GT model, originally introduced in 2014, focuses even more on performance. As Mercedes says, this total tour-de-force was born to perform and developed to outperform.
The Mercedes-Benz AMG GT Coupe comes equipped with a handcrafted, rip-roaring AMG 4.0L V8 engine capable of 550 hp. Its twin turbos, situated in the “hot V” among the cylinder bank, give this sports car an immense boost that helps it accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.6 seconds and achieve a top speed of 202 mph.
This powerful engine is coupled with a rear-mounted 7-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT transaxle. Its sleek and aerodynamic design combined with its athletic proportions empowers the fierce GT to conquer while on the track or out on the road.
And of course, this ultra-luxury sports performance car has everything you need and more on the inside from superior performance-inspired comfort to state-of-the-art infotainment.
Key Takeaway The GT’s unmatched motorsports legacy makes it a pure sports car with an ideal sense of balance to take on the road.

2022 Mercedes-Benz C 300 Coupe

The C 300 Coupe is among Mercedes-Benz’s entry-level sports cars. But don’t let its lower-tier status fool you—this luxury car boasts exceptional performance.
Built on a rear-drive platform, the 2022 model houses a turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder 255-hp engine with an option to upgrade to all-wheel drive. Its athletic handling gives the C 300 that coveted racecar feel.
The engine is further enhanced by a 48-volt hybrid system that can actually increase horsepower to 275. What’s more, this entry-level sports car can go from 0 to 60 mph in under six seconds and hit speeds of up to 130 mph.
The C-300 Coupe also comes with an array of high-tech interior amenities, like a digital gauge display and touch-sensitive controls. And of course, as all Benzes do, the C-300 has a number of luxury features that come standard from heated front seats with memory settings to a sunroof and an elegant dash.

2023 Mercedes-Benz AMG SL63 Roadster

The AMG SL Roadster is a race car for the open road that combines just the right amount of sportiness and comfort for a high-performing and luxurious driving experience.
Like the GT, the SL Roadster’s masterful engine is handcrafted to perfection. Its twin-turbocharged and intercooled DOHC 32-valve V8 hits a booming 577 hp. The best part: the Roadster goes from 0 to 60 mph in an astonishing 3.1 seconds! All of these details combine to make the Roadster more than a worthy competitor to its convertible rivals like the Lexus LC, BMW 8-Series, and even the
Porsche 911
.
Four-wheel steering and all-wheel drive are both standard on the Roadster, allowing for the agile handling that a sports car needs to conquer the roads.
This two-door convertible opts for a fabric roof on the 2022 model to save weight and optimize interior space. While there is a back seat, it’s probably best used for cargo rather than people! Up in front is the luxury and style you would expect from Mercedes.
The SL Roadster also checks all the infotainment boxes. All models come standard with the "Hey Mercedes" virtual assistant, and a dynamic 11.9-inch touchscreen. Additionally, a 12.3-inch digital gauge display comes standard.
Just know that all this performance and luxury will come at a price—a price rumored to be upwards of $175,000!

A history of the Mercedes-Benz sports car

The AMG GT Coupe, C 400 Coupe, and SL Roadster are just the latest milestones in Mercedes-Benz’s long sports car history, which stretches back to the 1920s.Below is a timeline of memorable moments in the rich history of the Mercedes-Benz sports car.

1928: Mercedes-Benz SSK

The SSK was the fastest car of its time, capable of hitting speeds of up to 120 mph. It was the last and greatest car designed for Mercedes-Benz by the innovative engineer Ferdinand Porsche before he left to launch his own automotive company––any guesses as to which company? The SSK would go on to win numerous races around the world.

1952: Mercedes-Benz 300SL

Known for its distinctive gull-wing doors, the 300SL was introduced to consumers at the 1954 New York Auto Show. Originally designed as a two-seat closed-sports car, an open-roof roadster would later be released. The 300SL enhanced the company’s reputation in the United States from a manufacturer of conventional automobiles to a producer of high-performing sports cars.

1971: Mercedes-Benz R107

The R107 paved the way for the stunning AMG SL63 Roadster. This two-seater convertible, available in both a hardtop and soft top, was introduced to take on the likes of the Jaguar E-Type. Even today, the R107, if in good mechanical condition, can still perform at high levels on the road.

1997: Mercedes-Benz R170

Earning a coveted spot on Car & Driver’s Top Ten Best list for 1997, the sleek and spry R170 held its own with the
Porsche Boxster
and
BMW Z3
. This was even more true when an AMG model was added in 2001 with a 354-hp supercharged version of the 3.2 L V6.

2006: Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren 722 Edition

SLR stands for "Sport, Leicht, Rennsport"  or in English: sport, light, racing. Topping out at 213 mph, the SLR McLaren 722 embodied those words more so than any other car on the road. This masterpiece was a joint venture by Mercedes-Benz and McLaren Automotive and had a staggering price tag of $495,000!
