Lexus
isn’t producing any station wagons on its current lineup, but it did make one station wagon from 2002 to 2005: the Lexus IS300
SportCross. You don’t often hear the words “luxury” and “station wagon” in the same sentence, so it's no surprise that Lexus—Toyota’s luxury division—doesn’t have many choices regarding station wagons. In fact, there are no current Lexus station wagons available, and only one in history: the Lexus IS300 SportCross.

What’s the difference between a station wagon and a hatchback?
How exactly can you tell the difference between a station wagon and a hatchback
? One way is to look for these classic markers you’ll find on any station wagon: Extra passenger room and/or cargo space accessible by a liftgate
Sedans are three-box vehicles with separate engines, passenger seating, and storage compartments. Hatchbacks and station wagons, on the other hand, have a two-box design where seating and storage are combined.
Where hatchbacks generally prioritize styling over storage with a gentler rear slope and a shorter body, station wagons lean towards a boxy back end with more room for storage and sometimes a third row of seating.

For their only station wagon, Lexus did not hold back. The Lexus IS300 SportCross featured a 3.0-liter inline-six engine rated at 215 horsepower and 218 lb-ft of torque. The power was all routed to the rear wheels from a five-speed automatic transmission.
One notable feature of the Lexus wagon is its beautiful analog gauge cluster. A watchmaker designed the gauge to resemble an expensive chronograph.
Like any station wagon, practicality can’t be ignored. The Lexus IS300 wagon’s seats fold flat, leading to a ramp for loading. The front passenger seat also folds forward into a table, which is also helpful for creating extra space to load long objects into the wagon.
