The bolt pattern on the 2009 Toyota Rav4 is 5x4.5. If bolt patterns aren't in your wheelhouse, here's what those numbers mean:

# of bolts x diameter of the circle they form

So, the pattern of 5x4.5 means there are five bolts on each wheel, and they form a circle 4.5 inches in diameter.

The bolt pattern isn’t the only piece of information you’ll need if you're swapping out wheels, though. It will also be helpful to know your Rav4’s stud size, wheel offset, center bore measurement, and torque specifications:

Factory wheel size: 16”-17”

Stud size: 12 mm x 1.5 (12 mm stud with 1.5 mm thread spacing)

Offset: 39-45 mm

Center bore: 60.1 mm

Lug nut torque: 103 Nm

How to measure your Toyota Rav4’s bolt pattern

The numbers above should be more than enough information to swap out your wheels for a fresh set, but if you want to measure for yourself, we have a simple way to do so.

Start by grabbing either measuring tape or a basic ruler and pick a bolt to start with. Measure from the outer edge of the bolt to the center of one of the opposite bolts. Since Rav4 wheels have five bolts, you’ll end up between lugs if you measure straight across, so measure to the center of the nearest bolt.

That measurement is your diameter, and when you put that and the number of bolts together, you get the bolt pattern!
