5x4.5 Bolt Pattern Vehicles

Will a wheel with a 5x4.5 bolt pattern fit your car? Click here to find out.

If you drive a Honda Accord or a pre-2007 Jeep Wrangler, your car’s wheels use a 5x4.5 bolt pattern—five bolts set in a circle 4.5 inches in diameter. But the 5x4.5 bolt pattern is super common: in fact, it’s the most popular lug pattern for passenger cars and SUVs.
If you’re wondering “what’s the big deal about bolt patterns,” the answer is simple. Only wheels with the right lug pattern will fit on your car, so knowing your bolt pattern is essential if you want to swap out those factory wheels for a shiny new set of rims.
That’s why
Jerry
, the world’s first and only
insurance shopping super app
for car owners, has created a guide to 5x4.5 bolt pattern wheels and the vehicles that use them. We’ll explain what a 5x4.5 bolt pattern is, show you how to find the right wheels to fit your car, and run down a complete list of the vehicles you might encounter that use this type of bolt pattern. And, as a final bonus, we’ll give you some quick tips to help you upgrade your
car insurance
along with your wheels!

What is a 5x4.5 bolt pattern?

First thing’s first: what is a 5x4.5 bolt pattern, anyway?
If you’re new to the world of lug patterns (another way to refer to this measurement), here’s what you need to know:
Bolt pattern = number of lugs x diameter of the circle formed by lugs
You can actually measure your bolt pattern for yourself! Start by counting the number of lugs on each of your car’s wheels. Then, using a tape measure or a basic household ruler, measure from the outer edge of one bolt to the center of the bolt opposite. If your car has five lugs, you’ll end up in between bolts—just pick either of the closest bolts and measure to the center.
If you count five bolts and end up with 4.5 inches between your opposite bolts, your vehicle has a 5x4.5 bolt pattern
Pro Tip You’ll also see a 5x4.5 bolt pattern written as “5x114.3.” It’s the same measurement, but the diameter is listed in millimeters rather than inches!

Where to get 5x4.5 bolt pattern wheels

Knowing your bolt pattern sets you up for success when shopping for new wheels. You can either purchase replacement wheels from the manufacturer of your vehicle, or go to a third-party dealer:
  • If you’re looking for basic, affordable 5x4.5 wheels:
    Discount Tire
is an easy one-stop shop for simple-yet-awesome wheel upgrades at approachable prices.
  • If you’re looking for a serious upgrade:
    Custom Offsets
caters especially to truck owners, but you can find seriously cool wheels for any vehicle here—just be prepared to shell out some real money!
  • If you’re not sure what you want:
    BB Wheels
is a small family-owned business with a ton of options for 5x4.5 bolt pattern wheels.
No matter where you find your 5x4.5 bolt pattern wheels, be sure to look up your vehicle’s specifications before you buy. In particular, you’ll need to know your current wheels’ size and offset
If you’re eyeing a new set of rims that are larger than your current wheels, you may need to buy lower-profile tires to account for the extra size of the wheel. Offset, simply put, refers to how far your wheels stick out from the body of the car. If you buy wheels with a different offset without making the necessary modifications, you’re setting yourself up for suspension trouble or brake catastrophes

Tips for installing 5x4.5 wheels

There are plenty of types of wheels for you to choose from. But keep in mind that if you buy alloy wheels, you’ll need to follow the torque specifications in your vehicle’s owner’s manual. Invest in a torque wrench now if you don’t have one already.
