Once you have everything that you need, start the Sienna’s engine. Let it run for about 5-10 minutes until the engine reaches normal operating temperature. Then, shut off the engine and follow these steps:

Pop the hood and prop it open.

Locate and remove the oil fill cap.

Lying on the ground and facing up, scoot under the engine bay.

Locate and remove the oil drain bolt—when you do, the old oil will begin draining out. So, have your drain pan in place and ready.

While the old oil is draining, use the filter wrench to remove the old filter. Then allow the oil to continue draining.

Once the old oil is completely emptied, install the new filter.

Replace the oil drain bolt and tighten it to 29 lb-ft.

Refill the engine using fresh engine oil.

After changing your oil, it’s a good idea to turn on your car and let your engine run for about 30 seconds before you check the oil level. This will give you a more accurate measurement, and you’ll be able to top it off if necessary.

Once that’s all done, you just need to let the Sienna run for a while to make sure there are no leaks. Other than that, all that’s left is to place the old oil into a sealed container and take it to a nearby recycling center.
