Before searching for your radio code, make sure you even need one—hold down your radio’s power button for a few seconds. This action resets the radio and resorts functionality for radios that don't need a code.
If this didn’t work, open the glovebox. Hopefully, the radio code is written on a decal inside the glove box or an identification card inside your owner’s manual. This ID card should list the radio’s serial number and the radio code.
If the sticker wasn’t there, you should also check the underside of your engine compartment’s fuse box, on the driver’s side door jamb, and on the trunk jamb.
How to look up a 2004 Acura TL radio code
If you could not find your Acura TL radio code in any of these places, don’t worry—there is still a way to access your radio codes. You’ll need to find two other numbers first: your car’s vehicle identification number (VIN) and the radio’s serial number.
To find the VIN, check the base of your windshield, your registration, any insurance documentation, or a sticker on your driver’s side door jamb. The VIN is a 17-digit number.
Your radio serial number will display on the radio face. First, put your car in the ON position. Then, hold down the first and sixth radio preset buttons, and turn on your radio. The radio’s serial number should flash across the screen.
