The most common 2016 BMW 7 Series problems

The good news is that the 2016 BMW 7 Series doesn’t have that many issues—at least compared to other models.
But nine drivers total have submitted complaints to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (
NHTSA
) against the 740i model in particular for issues dealing with its electrical system and vehicle speed control
Regarding the 740i electrical system, one driver complained of the audio control system freezing up and not responding to gesture commands or volume buttons—even on the steering wheel. And two drivers submitted complaints about the luxury sedan’s automatic park distance control system (PDC) failing to detect other nearby cars when attempting to park.
As for the vehicle speed control issues, two drivers complained about the 740i’s adaptive cruise control system failing to adapt to the speed of the vehicle and sometimes not detecting other nearby vehicles, resulting in near collisions.
Other common problems with the 2016 BMW 7 Series include:
  • Exploding sunroof/moonroof
  • Radiator failures
  • Instrument cluster goes blank
  • Sudden tire pressure loss
As of this writing, there have been no formal recalls for the 2016 BMW 7 Series.

Is the 2016 BMW 7 Series reliable?

Even with these issues, the 2016 BMW 7 Series has an average reliability score among the luxury full-size sedan class—mostly due to its high cost of ownership.
While there are no available reliability ratings for the 740i, RepairPal gives the 2016 750i an average 2.5/5.0 rating for reliability and ranks it 26 out of 30 in the luxury full-size car segment. Additionally, the average annual cost of repairs for the 750i is a jaw-dropping $1,061, meaning the luxury sedan has poor ownership costs.
Compared to other luxury sedan rivals, the frequency and severity of repairs are much higher in the 2016 750i, so don’t be too surprised when major
car repairs
come up.
But J.D. Power gives the 2016 BMW 7 Series some hope with an overall score of 82/100 from verified 7 Series car owners, though quality and reliability ratings are currently unavailable.

This app is great, but the customer service is even better! Not to mention convenient! My husband and I got the lowest rate (much lower than the rates I was finding online through my own searches), quickly, and pretty much all through text message! Thank you so much for a hassle free experience👍
