The most common 2011 Nissan Murano problems

The 2011 Nissan Murano was a popular car in its day, and for good reason. While the Murano does have some common complaints, it has never had any recalls from the manufacturer. This is a good sign for the durability and construction of the car.
That being said, the 2011 Murano does have some common complaints reported to the National Highway and Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The most common complaint is about the SUV’s braking system. This can be a very serious issue. The complaints state that drivers had to press further down on the brake pedal than normal for the vehicle to slow down.
Other second-generation Nissan Muranos have had recalls for this issue, but not the 2011 model. In at least one instance, the brake pedal failed and needed to be pumped repeatedly to slow the car. This is definitely an issue to keep your eye on—so be sure to keep up with the maintenance on your brakes.
The second-most reported complaints to the NHTSA have to do with the 2011 Murano’s powertrain and involve accelerating after stopping the car. Owners reported that after coming to a stop, the vehicle hesitates when drivers press the accelerator. After a moment or two, the car begins to accelerate, but sometimes slowly. This can be an especially big concern for people attempting to merge onto larger roadways.
The electrical system has also been tapped for issues, with the most common complaints stating that the heating and cooling system does not function properly. On the 2011 Nissan Murano Cabriolet, the convertible model of the SUV, there are also reports that the roof will stop retracting about halfway through.
Other less serious issues that have been noted on the 2011 Murano are a thumping in the floor of the vehicle caused by failing engine mounts and the driver’s side sun visor not remaining in the closed position
