The 2022 Toyota Sequoia SR5 is the best value

The SR5 is the base model of the 2022 Toyota Sequoia starting at $50,500, but that price jumps to $54,825 when equipped with the Premium package and $58,050 when you opt for four-wheel drive. That’s before optional accessories.

The base SR5 seats eight and features three-zone automatic climate control, a power tilt/slide moonroof with a sliding sun shade, a smart key system with push button start, Audio Plus with a 7-inch touchscreen, the Toyota Safety Sense driver assist system and blind spot monitor.

The Premium package adds leather-trimmed seats, a heated 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat and six-way power-adjustable front passenger seat with power-reclining third-row seats that also fold flat.

The rearview mirror is auto-dimming with a compass and includes a HomeLink universal transceiver. This package also comes with Premium Audio and a 3-year trial of Dynamic Navigation, Toyota’s onboard navigation interface.

The TRD Sport trim offers a more rugged look

The next step up would be the Sequoia TRD Sport trim, which is essentially a cosmetic upgrade of the SR5 but seats 7. The TRD Sport features a gloss-black grille with a chrome surround, 20-inch black alloy wheels and a color-keyed rear spoiler as well as auto low- and high-beam headlights.

The TRD Sport also has its own Premium package, which adds 7-passenger black leather trimmed seats with contrast stitching in addition to the features included in the SR5’s Premium package.

The Limited trim of the 2022 Toytoa Sequoia steps up the luxury

The next tier up is the Sequoia Limited, which features many of the same perks of the previous models as well as standard 20-inch machined-finish alloy wheels, power liftgate, heated front seats and front and rear parking assist.

The Limited has more available package options, including an option for 7-passenger seating with leather trim and second-row captains chairs, a premium JBL audio and convenience package and a rear-seat Blu-ray disc player.

The Sequoia Nightshade is effectively the Limited with a darker appearance package, integrated fog lights, auto-dimming heated power outside mirrors.

The TRD Pro is for serious off-roaders

The Sequoia TRD Pro features 18-inch black forged aluminum alloy wheels, LED fog lights, a “TOYOTA” grille with color-keyed surround, a TRD black roof rack, enhanced front and rear suspension as well as many of the options of the lower trim levels.

The 2022 Toyota Sequoia Platinum is the most expensive version

The Sequoia Platinum is the top trim level for the Sequoia lineup. Toyota calls out its 20-inch machined-finish alloy wheels, rear-seat Blu-ray disc player, heated and ventilated front seats, premium audio and on-board navigation system as well as driver assist features like Blind Spot Monitor and Toyota Safety Sense.

It essentially wraps in all the premium package features from the lower trim levels at a starting MSRP of $66,550.

A new Toytoa Sequoia on the horizon?

Now might be the time to buy a 2022 Sequoia as the all-new 2023 Sequoia is on its way to dealer lots. The all-new Sequoia will be more powerful, more capable and more tech-filled than its predecessor.

Expect to see the 2023 Sequoia this summer, and don’t be surprised to see the 2022 model priced to move.
