Porsche is starting off 2022 with the unveiling of the 2022
Porsche 911
Turbo. The 2022 Porsche comes in several trims and styles, including the Turbo coupe, Turbo cabriolet, Turbo S coupe, and Turbo S cabriolet. Here, we’re breaking down the details on the 2022 911 Turbo S and Turbo models.
Although they’re more pricey than the 2022 Turbo models, the 2022 Turbo S models come with unbeatable engines, incredible interior features, and more. If 2022 is the year you want to invest in a
luxury car
, splurging for the Porsche 911 Turbo S is a great option.

What’s new for 2022?

When you compare the 2022 Porsche 911 to the 2021 model, you’ll find there aren’t any crazy changes for the model year, but there are some nice perks. According to
Car and Driver
, the biggest changes surround the car’s infotainment system, which has been updated with the latest generation of Porsche Communication Management.
Plus, there’s more features for Apple CarPlay users, and Android users finally have compatibility with Android Auto. Porsche said the navigation systems, voice recognition technology, and over-the-air technology had all been improved as well in the newest model. As we’ve seen before, Porsche is working on some pretty cool things with its infotainment system.

Exterior and Engine: 2022 Porsche 911 Turbo S

As
Car Buzz
points out, the 911 Porsche Turbo S has all the classic Porsche features you’d expect on the outside. When looking at the model, you’ll see the iconic rounded LED headlights, with an LED light strip at the rear. Up front, there’s 10-piston calipers and four piston calipers in back. Plus, a large grille and rear spoiler.
Where the Turbo S models really shine over the Turbo is with their 3.7-liter, six cylinder engine that carries up to 640 hp. With an engine like that, and an acceleration time of 2.9 seconds to go from 0 to 60 mph, this car is true to its reputation as a fast, flashy, sports car. The regular Turbo model only carries 540 hp.
Not to mention, with the Turbo S you’ll get all-wheel drive, an eight-speed dual clutch automatic transmission, and great brakes.

Interior and Comfort

The Turbo S again outshines the Turbo with some interior and comfort features. Only in the Turbo S models will drivers find 18-way adjustable sport heated seats, a Bose surround sound stereo, a carbon fiber interior finish, and Porsche’s Sport Chrono package.
Most Porsches aren’t known for being spacious, and the 2022 Porsche 911 Turbo S is no exception. It has two seats up front, and two in the back, but sitting comfortably in the backseat would be difficult even for a child. But, up front, even taller adults will feel comfortable as both a passenger and driver.
Unlike some other Porsche models, the 911 Turbo S has a decent amount of cargo space, totaling 4.5 cubic feet with rear seats up. When you put the rear seats down, space increases to 9.3 cubic feet.

Safety and Infotainment

Like we said earlier, the infotainment system is perhaps where we saw the most change in the Turbo and Turbo S models. Both are equipped with 10.9-inch touchscreen systems that are compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Bose is the standard sound system, but drivers can upgrade to Burmester for an additional cost. Sirius XM and WiFi hotspots are also available for an additional cost.
As for safety, both Turbo models come equipped with adaptive cruise control, night vision, emergency braking, and lane departure warning.
