background
Ford
is one of the last American automakers left, and its most popular model is the F-Series line of trucks. These trucks, such as the F-150, have been selling well for a long time, and Ford recently built the 40 millionth one. Here's a look at the long and successful history of the Ford F-Series of trucks, and what the 40 millionth one looks like.

What does the 40 millionth Ford F-Series look like?

According to
Kelley Blue Book
, this big milestone for Ford looks like a pretty regular truck. Despite being the 40 millionth truck, Ford has no plans on putting it in a museum. Instead, it's going to the customer who bought it.
That customer is apparently from Texas, and they are buying their F-150 so that they can drive it to their job. Their F-150 isn't the cheap work truck version, however. They bought the 2022 F-150 Tremor, and it has quite a few upgrades over the work truck version.
In terms of design choices, this customer's F-150 Tremor has a silver paint job, and it also has a short bed. Since it's a Tremor, the customer only could get the Super Crew body style. Not much else is known about this special F-150, but it must feel pretty cool for the customer to own a small part of Ford history.

Ford has been building great F-Series trucks for a long time

This 40 millionth F-Series is in good company, as Ford's been building great pickup trucks for decades. The F-Series, in fact, was Ford's first new product after World War II ended. Ford's goal was to design a pickup truck meant for the average customer, and Ford did just that.
Ford did a lot of experimenting in the early days of the F-Series. For example, in the 60s, Ford gave the truck a unibody design. This version of the F-150 didn't sell well, so Ford threw it out pretty quickly. Nowadays, however, unibody trucks like the
Hyundai Santa Cruz
are actually somewhat popular, so Ford was ahead of the curve there.
In 1977, the F-Series became the best-selling truck in America, and Ford hasn't slowed down since. Ford generally kept improving on its formula at this point. The F-Series got bigger and more powerful, but now, it's becoming more family-oriented, too.

The Ford F-Series in the modern day

In the early 2000s, Ford realized that a lot of customers were using their trucks for errands. So, Ford started to design the F-Series with the idea of daily driving in mind.
Ford made the ride smoother, and Ford also created a heavy-duty version of the truck for people who weren't interested in daily driving. Ford also gave the truck more premium options, and this strategy paid off.
Now, the F-Series is the most popular car in America, which means that it's beating out every other option on the market. With the Ford F-150 Lightning, Ford's also bringing the EV age to the F-Series. This should ensure that the F-Series continues to do well for years to come.
