How much does it cost to replace motor mounts?

Lately, while driving my car, I’ve noticed strange sounds from the engine. I asked a friend who works on cars, and he said the motor mounts are probably going bad. How much does it cost to replace motor mounts?

Replacing a motor mount will cost anywhere from $200 to $600, depending on how difficult it would be for a mechanic to access your engine.
Be aware that this price may increase if you live in a place with high labor costs, or if your engine is particularly complex or tricky to access. But it’s important to get your car to a mechanic soon to avoid more costly damage.
An engine with loose or damaged motor mounts can move around under the hood and cause additional damage to other components of your vehicle. If you end up needing to
replace the entire engine
, you could spend upwards of $3,000.
If you suspect that your motor mounts are beginning to fail, there are some key signs you should watch out for:
  • Bouncing or moving engine
  • Engine vibrations
, especially felt on the passenger’s side
  • Knocking or clanking engine noises
  • Engine tilts to one side or the other
  • Broken belts or hoses
Hope this helps!
