background
The
minivan
market is limited as it has been phased out by the ever-growing suv segment. However, there are some automakers who continue to deliver them and have them make a comeback.
One of these companies is Kia and one of their latest minivans is the family-friendly 2023
Kia Carnival
.

Specs on the 2023 Kia Carnival

The 2023 Kia Carnival is powered by a 24-valve 3.5-liter V-6 engine that gets 290 hp at 6,400 rpm and 262 lb-ft of torque.
Going from 0 to 60 mph in 7.0 seconds and 0 to 100 in 17.8 seconds, the minivan is no beast on the streets but it’ll get you where you need to go with its surprising acceleration.
The vehicle has an eight-speed automatic transmission and only comes in front-wheel drive with no all-wheel drive option available.
The EPA states that the minivan gets 19 mpg city, 26 mpg highway, and a combined 22 mpg. However, when
Car and Driver
tested the Carnival they noted that it got two more mpg on the highway which is a total of 28.

Interior of the 2023 Kia Carnival

Rave reviews are in for the 2023 Kia Carnival, a four-door minivan that can seat a total of seven passengers. There’s an option for a panoramic sunroof that goes over the second-row if your passengers would like to see the blue skies up above.
While the standard trim is nice on its own, you can upgrade to the SX Prestige trim which has leather furnishings and has the option of getting reclining secon-row seats with footrests. Talk about comfortable and classy.
However, if you do opt for these seats, keep in mind that they can’t be stowed as efficiently when compared to rivals and thusly limits cargo capacity.
When looking at the storage on the vehicle there’s a large center console as well as little nooks and crannies in the vehicle to store small items.
During Car and Driver’s test of the Carnival’s storage they could “fit 14 carry-on suitcases behind the third row of seats and a whopping 48 in total with all seats folded”.
While the 2023 Kia Carnival comes with one 8-inch infotainment screen, there are 12.3-inch dual-screens available with one providing a digital gauge display and the other solely being used for infotainment purposes.
The vehicle comes with nine USB ports interspaced throughout and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come standard. If you get the SX trim you can get a rear-seat entertainment system, and on the aforementioned luxurious SX trim, you can get a 12-speaker Bose audio sound system.
