The all new Infiniti
QX60 SUV has gotten a 2022 redesign, and it’s fresh, polished and refined. The three-row luxury QX60 is hoping to compete with other high-end SUVs like the Lincoln Aviator, the BMW X5 and the Mercedes GLE class. Jerry
, your favorite car insurance super app took a look at this new, reimagined SUV from Infiniti. Infiniti QX60 powertrain, performance and trims
The new QX60 has the same V6 powertrain that is featured in the latest Nissan Pathfinder, and in the most recent QX60 in 2020, but the continuously variable transmission (CVT) has been discontinued in favor of a more conventional nine-speed automatic. The engine is a 295-hp 3.5-liter with 270 lb-ft of torque—the only available engine for the QX60.
Front-wheel drive comes standard, but you can opt for all-wheel drive for an additional $2,000. Also, the new QX60 has a towing capacity of 6,000 pounds, which is 1,000 pounds more than the previous 2020 version.
Car and Driver
praises the “new nine-speed automatic's smooth shifts and well-controlled body motions when cornering” but counters that “the ride is stiffer than we expected for what otherwise is a comfy cruiser, especially on the optional 20-inch wheels.” The new QX60 offers four trim levels ranging in starting price, from the lower level $47,875 Pure trim up to $61,375 for the top-of-the-line Autograph trim level. In between, the Luxe and the Sensory options come in at $53,925 and $57,375 respectively.
Car and Driver found the Sensory trim level to be the best bang for your buck. It comes with heated second-row seats, an air purifier, massaging front seats, wireless phone charging and a 17-speaker Bose sound system among other features.
Interior features on the Infiniti QX60
The cabin of the new QX60 has been reimagined and styled to offer a quiet, luxe, and dreamy experience. The lower three trim levels seat seven passengers, but the Autograph offers captain’s chairs in the second row, bringing the seating capacity down to six despite bringing the comfort level to a maximum for the second row passengers.
The biggest changes in the 2022 version are in the interior styling. The dashboard is wide and airy with hidden air vents, and luxurious-feeling stitched upholstery. Well-appreciated separate radio volume and climate control knobs are located under the air vents. The front two rows of seating are roomy and comfortable.
Those of us sensitive to road noise and chaos will appreciate the extra-sound-proofing and relaxing touches Infinti poured into this vehicle. The front seats can be ventilated, heated and used for massaging with eight-way power controls. Two-zone climate controls are standard, with an optional third zone in the higher trim levels that also features an air purifier. Sounds like a spa on wheels, doesn’t it?

2022 QX60 technology and safety
One of the complaints of prior models of the QX60 was the outdated dual-screen infotainment system. The new version has combined these into a 12.3-inch touchscreen that is compatible with Android Auto and features wireless Apple CarPlay, and comes with Wi-Fi capability as well. Buyers can also opt for a second digital gauge display, as well as a heads-up display on the windshield. Be aware that the Android Auto function is not wireless, however.
Today’s drivers have become accustomed to layers of safety features. From optional adaptive cruise control to standard collision warnings, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warnings and assist, plus an optional semi-autonomous driving mode, the Infiniti QX60 really delivers on the safety front.
