Would you say that a hybrid vehicle is a good starter car?

“It might be. That isn’t to say a hybrid vehicle is a poor starter car. But you have many things to factor in.
If the vehicle is for a younger driver, mileage may not be nearly as important as safety. Or if you’re a high-performance enthusiast (or you perceive yourself to be), you probably don’t value getting 50 mpg as much as going from zero to 60 in five seconds. Same if you like to go off-road. If that’s the case, a hybrid probably won’t do you much good compared to a four-wheel-drive SUV or truck.
Therefore, you’ll need to weigh your wants and needs to determine if a hybrid is the perfect starter car for you. In the past 20 years, hybrid vehicles have come to provide many of the same offerings as their gas-powered counterparts. As a result, you just might find a hybrid that gives you the features you want while also maximizing your fuel economy. “
