Why is my cruise control light flashing on my Subaru Legacy?

I love my Subaru Legacy! However, the other day, the cruise control light kept flashing and I had no idea what it meant. I can’t find the owner’s manual, so I’m at a loss of what to do or what the problem is. Why is my Legacy’s cruise control light flashing?

The cruise control light is flashing on your Subaru Legacy to signify that your cruise control is currently disabled and you may have other mechanical or electrical issues afoot. While the problem could be as simple as a loose gas cap, it’s often a sign of more complex issues.
Some of the reasons for a flashing cruise control light on a Subaru Legacy include:
  • A faulty speed sensor
  • A blown fuse that’s connected to your cruise control system
  • Up to 194 other onboard diagnostic codes set off by a flashing cruise control dashboard light
Due to the vast number of reasons for this issue, take your car to a mechanic immediately to diagnose and fix the issue.
If the repair costs a pretty penny, you can always offset some of the cost by shopping around for cut-rate
