I don’t understand how to check my blind spots when I’m driving. How do I know where I should be looking?

Your blind spots are the areas you can’t see in your mirrors when sitting normally in the driver’s seat. Most cars have a blind spot on each flank, so you’ll need to check the lanes to the left and right of you to fully check your blind spots.
To check your blind spot on the left, look over your left shoulder to make sure that no one is next to your car. To check your blind spot on the right, look at your right side mirror and look out your right side windows. You should do this whenever you change lanes,
pull up to the curb
, pull away from the curb, or make any other lateral movement in your car.
