What year of the Honda Civic has Bluetooth?

I’m looking for a used car to give my son for his first car, and I know Honda Civics are known to be reliable. I know it’s important for him to be able to play his own music, so I want to make sure the model I get has the right tech. Which Civics come with Bluetooth?

What a generous parent! 2009 is the first year the
Honda Civic
came with available Bluetooth, but it was only available on certain trims. Bluetooth came standard on all models from 2012 on, but as you’re shopping, keep in mind that earlier models with Bluetooth may not have Bluetooth audio streaming, only hands-free phone capabilities.
In most models, you can connect with Bluetooth by following these steps:
  1. Turn your phone’s Bluetooth discoverability on.
  2. Select the Home button on the top left of your Civic’s media screen.
  3. Press Phone, then select “Yes” and “Continue.”
  4. Select your phone from the list on your car’s screen, then enter the displayed PIN code into your phone.
  5. If your system can’t find your phone, you’ll need to search for your car’s HandsFreeLink from your phone.
When in doubt, you can always consult your Civic’s owner’s manual to learn the pairing process for your specific model.
