What is the difference between the Jeep Sahara and Rubicon?
I’m in the market for a new Jeep Wrangler, and I’m a little overwhelmed by all the options. There are so many! I think I’m going to go with either the Sahara or Rubicon. Which one is better?

That’s a great question—trim levels can definitely be overwhelming to choose between!
Brand new, the Jeep Rubicon is about $2,000 less than the Sahara. Even so, the Rubicon is better equipped for off-roading, with a 3.6-liter V-6 engine and eight-speed automatic transmission—though you also have the option of six-speed manual transmission.
But the cons of the Rubicon’s off-roading equipment are weight: the Rubicon is over 100 pounds heavier than the Sahara.
And that’s where the Sahara shines: it is lighter, faster, and more fuel efficient than the Rubicon. In general, it’s much more comfortable for daily-driving.
