What is the best remedy for driving fatigue?

I just got an outside sales job where I have to drive long distances to meet with clients. After a few hours of driving, my eyes start to get heavy. What can I do to reduce driving fatigue?

Congrats on the new job! Driving is a huge component of many outside sales jobs, but the best remedy for driving fatigue is sleep. There’s really no substitute. Sleep recharges your energy levels, boosts your concentration, and improves your reaction time.
However, sleep isn’t always an option if you’re in a time crunch. If you can’t get a good bit of shut-eye, try a few of these alternatives:
  • Drink a cup of coffee or an energy drink, but don’t overdo it.
  • Pull into a rest stop to get a 15-minute nap.
  • Take breaks whenever possible.
  • Turn up the volume on the radio.
  • Listen to music with a heavier edge.
Hopefully, your employer gets you the right insurance when you’re driving. But you still might want to add roadside assistance or towing and labor coverage just to be on the safe side. That’s where
