How many Jeep TJs were made?

My friend’s dad owns an old Jeep TJ and told me a lot about the vehicle's history and just Wranglers in general. Now, I’m dying to know more about the TJ. How many Jeep TJs were made?

The
Jeep Wrangler TJ
offered all the classic capabilities of a Jeep at a budget-friendly price—but during the vehicle’s nine-year production run from 1997 to 2006, only 4,000 TJ models were made.
At the time of their release, TJ Jeeps were part of the Wrangler’s second generation and boasted several old-school accents reminiscent of its first generation, including the classic circular Jeep headlights.
Halfway through its reign, the TJ saw some minor redesigns to its exterior appearance, along with an upgraded 2.4-liter inline-4 engine option and an Unlimited trim that sported an extra-long wheelbase for added cargo space.
In 2007, the TJ was superseded by the newest generation of Wranglers, which borrowed the Unlimited name. In the same year, two special edition Wrangler trims—the Wrangler Golden Eagle Edition and the limited 65th Anniversary Edition—were also released.
