How do I reset a Ford Fusion Bluetooth?
I’ve had my Ford Fusion for a couple years now. Lately, the SYNC system has been running super slow and I’m wondering if it’s a problem with the connection with my phone. How do I reset the Bluetooth on my Fusion?

A slow SYNC system can definitely be annoying! To reset the Bluetooth on your
Ford Fusion
, you have a few options. You can try restarting the system, clearing the Bluetooth devices, or performing a master reset of the SYNC system—here’s how to perform each of these options.To restart the SYNC system, turn off the ignition, then open and close your Fusion’s door to reset the vehicle computer. Once everything has shut down, let the vehicle sit for 30 seconds. Then, restart it and try pairing your phone—this may be enough to get your Bluetooth back to normal.
To clear the Bluetooth devices paired to your Fusion, select “Settings” on your SYNC screen and click either “Phone” or “Bluetooth”. From those menus you can unpair and delete the paired devices. Make sure you delete the Fusion from your Bluetooth devices before attempting to reconnect.
As a last resort, you can perform a master reset of your Ford’s SYNC system. Be aware that this will also delete addresses and other personal data you have saved. Follow these steps:
- Delete SYNC/ Ford Fusion on your phone’s Bluetooth menu
- On the SYNC screen, select “Phone” and find the “Advanced” option (or “General” depending on the model year)
- On the Advance screen, press “Master Reset” and then select OK
Once the master reset is complete, turn your Fusion on and wait for the SYNC screen to reboot. Then, try connecting your phone with Bluetooth.
