California has the most electric cars in the U.S. and I know there were a lot of incentives a few years back when electric cars were new on the market. Do electric cars pay bridge tolls in California?

Good question! Yes,
electric cars
pay regular tolls in California. This said, with the Clean Air Vehicle (CAV) program there may be some discounts if you preregister your car.
Low emissions vehicles are well known to be incentive magnets, as many states and other regions of the world try to encourage more drivers to switch over. California’s
FasTrak
system, which is a way to pay tolls without having to stop at toll booths, has a special tag available for CAVs.
The tag works at all toll bridges and Bay Area express lanes and qualifies the vehicle for free and/or discounted tolls. Each tag can only be used for one vehicle, but drivers can register up to 3 other vehicle tags for free under the same account.
