Are windshields covered under the Subaru Limited Warranty?
I noticed a small crack at the top of my Subaru Forester on my way home from work. I purchased my vehicle in 2021, so it’s still under warranty—but will it cover windshield damage?

Dealing with a damaged windshield is never fun—or cheap. Unfortunately,windshields are not covered under the Subaru Limited Warranty. Generally speaking, warranties only cover windshields if the damage is due to a manufacturing or workmanship defect. You’ll likely have to pay out of pocket for this repair.
Subaru also offers three maintenance plans called Subaru Equity Shield Optimum Vehicle Protection. These plans are purchased separately and include:
- Tire and Wheel Protection
- Windshield Protection
- Dent and Ding Protection
