won its popularity through its durable and versatile off-roading vehicles, making them a favorite for adventurers. If you have a Wrangler, though, it’s got some other secrets you might come to love.
The Jeep Wrangler has some interesting easter eggs, as well as some fun hidden storage compartments for you to use if you can find them.
Where are the secret compartments in a Jeep Wrangler?
In older models of the Jeep Wrangler, there are two secret compartments—one being a bit less secret than the other.
The more commonly known one is located beneath the floor of the trunk, accessible through a lift-up lid incorporated into the floor. It’s about 46" long by 29" wide and around three inches deep, so it’s best for storing flat or thin valuables. You could even use it to store more delicate items that you wouldn’t want rolling around with whatever else you’re hauling.
The second, much more secret "storage" compartment is behind the passenger-side taillight.
Technically, it’s just dead, unused space, but according to
users, if you can access it and put stuff in it, it’s storage. Redditors said that they’ve used the space to store jumper cables, air compressors, and valuables in case of a break-in. Others suggested putting raw fish or chicken in your enemy’s Wrangler, though we recommend using the space for less nefarious purposes.
The compartment can be accessed by taking off the tail light, but there’s also a stiff piece of foam at the bottom of it that can be removed for easier access. The foam is located between the back bumper and the wheel.
The newer model doesn’t have as many secrets, but this one’s still a good one. There’s a secret compartment in the lid of the center console.
There are two regular storage compartments in the console, but the secret one can be accessed through the upper storage. From there, there’s a section of the lid wall that can be removed, revealing a small bit of space.
Though it’s not big enough to hide things like purses or gym bags, a phone, wallet, or even a bit of extra cash can easily be stored inside.

, the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon has a lot of easter eggs for buyers to find. Most of them are references to the vehicle’s history, as the model harkens back to the original Willys Jeep made and used during World War II.
There is morse code featured on the back of the car, right under the JL stamp. The markings indicate what’s above it—JL—and add a neat bit of history to the car.
There are also small Willys Jeep silhouettes all around the vehicle. One is featured in the corner of the windshield, another on the rim of the wheels, and another on top of the gear shift.
