It can be intimidating to walk into a dealership and buy a new car. Some people might prefer to look around without a salesperson hovering close by.
If you prefer to shop in the comfort of your own home, you’re in luck. Kia has just introduced a Kia@Home program that lets you book a test drive at the most convenient location for you—even right to your door.
According to Kia, the new on-demand, at-home car shopping experience is available in several major cities. Here’s more information about Kia@Home and how to book an appointment.
Kia will let you test drive your new car at home.
How does the Kia@Home program work?
Kia@Home lets you schedule test drives of two Kia vehicles including the new Kia Carnival MPV and the electric Niro EV. It brings the vehicles right to your door or to a location of your choosing.
The test drives are one hour long and include an in-depth vehicle walkaround from a Drive Specialist. You won’t be able to purchase the vehicle directly from the Kia@Home program. If you ended up not liking it, you wouldn’t have wasted any time testing it at the dealership.
Russell Wager, vice president of marketing at Kia America, said “Personalized, convenient and on-demand, Kia@Home brings an interactive and unique Kia experience to shoppers when and where they want.” Wager emphasizes that more consumers will be able to test drive their vehicles in their own real-world settings.
As the auto industry becomes increasingly technology-focused, transforming the online shopping experience will be a good way for automakers to stand out.
To book an appointment, you can visit Kia.com, select between the Carnival MPV or Niro EV, and schedule a delivery. If you want to buy the car after your test drive, the specialist will help you set up a time to visit your local Kia dealership.
Unfortunately, only those two models are available for at-home test drives right now, and Kia is still testing the program. The Kia@Home program only runs through October 3. If it’s successful, you might see more car brands try to implement similar programs.
The Kia@Home program for testing both the Carnival MPV and Niro EV is available in major U.S. cities including:
