The
Porsche
Taycan is getting a ton of new colors to choose from, as well as useful technological updates.
The
new Taycan
is entering the 2022 model year as Porsche’s third best-selling vehicle in North America.
So it’s no surprise that the Taycan, originally released in 2020, is being updated to stay fresh.
The 2022 Porsche Taycan is getting some exciting new paint options.

Shiny new updates for the 2022 Porsche Taycan

Since the Taycan is an all-electric vehicle, it has been naturally compared to the hot-selling Tesla cars. Impressively, it became the Model S’s first true competitor in electric vehicles (EVs).
GreenCars
even reviewed the Taycan and declared that if the high price weren’t an issue, everyone would be driving a Taycan over a Tesla.
For a luxury EV, that’s high praise. Among all Porsche car sales, only the Porsche Cayenne and Macan are better selling, according to
Car and Driver
. With the 2022 updates, the Taycan might just swoop up there and take a higher spot.
For 2022, the Taycan will include a new, breathtaking Cross Turismo model option. The rugged wagon is satisfying to drive and a fantastic family-hauling tool.
In addition, the Taycan is getting a whopping 65 extra color options! They’re all stunning and vivid.
Classic colors include Acid Green, Rubystar, and Riviera Blue.
But the more important thing is that Porsche has promised if you want a shade they don’t offer, they will custom paint it for you! Talk about a colorful determination.

Of course, for fans and car buyers who already have an existing shade of Taycan in mind that they want, the 2022 update might not seem so useful.
Rest assured that there are at least some technological updates on the way.
The Taycan will be given a remote-park feature. It allows the car to be parked without a driver in the front seat via a smartphone app.
Of course, this is directly similar to Tesla’s Summon feature, which also assists owners in parking their cars.
The 2022 Taycan will also include Android Auto capability. Porsche has been adding the option to other lines of their brand as well: the Porsche 911, Cayenne, and Panamera.
Before now, Porsche only used Apple CarPlay for its infotainment system. This update will offer more versatility for Porsche owners everywhere.
Last but not least, the Taycan is also receiving a battery upgrade.
Their 71.0-kWh and 83.7-kWh battery packs can now precondition to higher temperatures, which speeds up the charging process (though not by much).
These 2022 Taycans will arrive in showrooms at the end of 2021. They will start at $81,250 for the base rear-wheel-drive, making the price the same as last year’s version.
