I know Teslas are all made in the U.S., but I want to find out exactly where mine was built. How can I do that?
You can tell where your Tesla was built by looking at your vehicle identification number (VIN).
All Teslas are manufactured at either Tesla’s Fremont, California or Austin, Texas plant—your VIN has a special code that will tell you which.
  • Find your VIN: Look on your registration, owner’s manual, insurance card, or the top of the dashboard by the windshield
  • Check the eleventh digit of your VIN: F means Fremont (CA), A means Austin (TX).
